"Grow" Your Own Chocolate Bonsai Tree With This DIY Candy Kit

Just add water.

Japanese candy company HEART has created an easy — and delicious — way to grow your very own bonsai tree. The brand now offers a DIY chocolate kit dubbed “Okashi de Tsukuru Bonsai,” which roughly translates to “Making a Bonsai Out of Candy” for an instant, edible garden.

The kit includes malleable chocolate and three molding trays to re-create the tree’s textured trunk, as well as green powder mixture to fashion into “leaves.” As demonstrated in a how-to video, simply press the chocolate into each molding tray and chill it in the freezer. For realistic foliage, mix the kit’s leaf powder with water. The edible tufts can then be placed onto the tree base with a toothpick.

HEART’s chocolate bonsai kit retails for ¥350 JPY (approximately $3.40 USD) at Amazon.
