Adidas Drops New Sneaker Designed For Women, the UltraBOOST 22

The new shoe is specifically made to fit the female foot.

adidas has released the newest addition to the UltraBOOST family, the UltraBOOST 22. Created by an all-women team, the new sneaker is meticulously designed with the female form in mind. Using research from over 1 million foot scans from different women, adidas reinvented the iconic UltraBOOST to better support women’s specific sneaker needs.

The new silhouette boasts an innovative S-curve heel created to allow greater movement of your Achilles tendon, not to mention a narrower heel and a lower instep. The latest UltraBOOST technology also offers a higher energy return and more responsive stride for avid runners like adidas athlete and two-time Olympian Shaunae Miller-Uibo, who is glad to see the brand’s commitment to supporting the entire running community. “As an athlete, seeing brands innovate and push boundaries inspires me to do the same. It’s great to know that I have the support I need every step of the way,” remarks the professional runner.

The addition of a smartly designed outsole and Linear Energy Push system in combination with the signature BOOST midsole adds superior comfort and support. The UltraBOOST 22 also features a sustainable twist — the refined Primeknit+ upper is made with yarn containing 50% Parley Ocean Plastic. “We created the adidas UltraBOOST 22, by taking a more holistic approach to the way we design our running shoes. The UltraBOOST 22 is crafted with the goal of supporting our female running community by providing them with a shoe that delivers ultimate expression of comfort and responsiveness,” says Nora Wilimzig, Senior Product Manager, adidas Running in a press release.

To celebrate its latest invention, adidas Running will be releasing a special playlist on Spotify on December 11. Right in time for the new year, the brand will also be launching a month-long “Countdown to 22” challenge in the adidas Running app.

The UltraBOOST 22 drops today in a rich mauve colorway in the Creators Club app and will be available widely on December 9 on the adidas app, website and in-store.
