Chanel and Prada Are Gen Z's Most Searched Brands in 2021

Fashionphile releases its 2021 Ultra-Luxury Resale Report today and in spite of the ups and downs of 2021, the luxury market is thriving. With creative directors’ untimely departures or the economic strain caused by COVID-19, the demand for designer remains strong.
Perhaps the global pandemic has encouraged us to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. Thanks to e-commerce and resale, consumers have been able to shop as much as they’d like, circumventing social distance mandates.
Top search terms for Gen Z this year were Chanel, Gucci and Prada, while Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Saint Laurent saw record sales. Timepieces also experienced a spike as the word “watch” increased 61% in searches from 2020 to 2021. Prized watches are the Rolex Daytona Yellow Gold with Green Dial and Patek Philippe‘s Tiffany & Co. Nautilus.
Many of us have also started looking at fashion as an investment. With platforms like Depop and The RealReal, it pays to purchase highly coveted pieces to resell in the future. Keep your eyes on the Christian Dior Lady Dior bag, the Prada Mini Re-Edition bag, the Fendi Baguette, not to mention the Bottega Veneta Pouch and Padded Sandals.
