No Sesso Debuts Collection 4 “Ghetto Gold” at Art Basel Miami 2021

The range of custom-made clothing includes luxurious fur-trimmed coats and chiffon dresses.

Los Angeles-based fashion label No Sesso has released its latest collection “Ghetto Gold.” Co-designers Pierre Davis and Autumn Randolph unveiled the glamorous range of bespoke clothing at this year’s Art Basel Miami. Presented alongside Jeffrey Deitch’s highly viewed “Shattered Glass” exhibition, No Sesso’s hand-crafted fashion garments and accessories are wearable works of art.

Inspired by Afrofuturism, “Ghetto Gold,” which was developed over the course of two years, portrays its models as Black deities, outfitting them in opulent black sheer chiffon dresses covered in extravagant ostrich feathers. The unabashed display of opulence signals not only a reclaiming of Black identity, but a hopeful and aspirational outlook on the future.

Comprised of 19 individual couture looks, the capsule includes barely there micro bras, elaborately beaded bustiers and elegant silk trousers in various shades of brown, like honey beige and deep chocolate to represent the rich tapestry of melanated skin. The line utilizes a blend of new materials like silk and chiffon, while making use of upcycled fabrics from past collections.

Alongside the label’s one-of-a-kind clothing, Davis and Randolph debuted an exciting collection film produced with 3BLACKDOT, the LA-based digital entertainment studio that co-created and produced films including Lena Waithe’s Queen & Slim.

All pieces in No Sesso‘s “Ghetto Gold” collection are one-of-one and available for acquisition for private clients, and will not be produced for the retail market. Take a look at the lookbook for No Sesso’s “Ghetto Gold” collection above.
