MAC's Liquidlast Eyeliner Gets a Colorful Makeover for Pride Month
In 11 shades inspired by the colors of the LGBTQIA+ flags.
MAC Cosmetics is honoring Pride Month with its upcoming Pride and Joy Liquidlast Liner Vault collection. The waterproof eyeliner range is comprised of 11 colorways featuring metallic and matte finishes that last up to 24 hours.
“Pride is about community, and this community has been through a lot. MAC has celebrated queer people since the inception of the brand,” MAC Cosmetics’ Senior Vice President and Global Creative Director Drew Elliott said in a press release. “When we approached Pride this year, we wanted to create a product that celebrates the artistic and creative contribution of the community, leads with inclusivity and also gives back.” Among the 11 shades, the black and brown hues symbolize the marginalized LGBTQIA+ communities of color, while pink, light blue and white represent the transgender Pride Flag.
In addition, MAC is set to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the collection to the Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) to further aid “at-risk LGBTQIA+ youth, focusing on BIPOC transgender youth.” On top of that, the cosmetics label’s VIVA GLAM program will fund HMI youth with direct services, including arts and culture, health and wellness, academic enrichment, and more.
Priced at $125 USD, the limited-edition Pride and Joy Liquidlast Liner Vault collection will be available via MAC’s U.S. website on June 23.
