The Games will spotlight some of the most iconic landmarks of the French capital.
The upcoming Games, which is scheduled to commence three years from now, returns to the French capital in 100 years since the 1924 Olympics. The Grand Palais – a venue famous for housing Chanel shows each season – will feature Taekwondo and fencing competitions. The Champs Élysées will serve as the backdrop for cycling races, and beach volleyball will take place in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Elsewhere, Les Invalides will be home to archery competitions, while horseback riding and modern pentathlon will be held at the Palace of Versailles. Newly-added sports like breakdancing, skateboarding, BMX and 3-on-3 basketball will be located at the Place de la Concorde. Surfing fans can catch the games 15,000 miles away from the city at Teahupu Beach on Tahiti island.
