Stussy Taps Artisan Project To Craft 30 Upcycled Boucherouite Rugs
Made using T-shirts from the streetwear brand’s warehouse in California.
Shortly after dropping its coveted Birkenstock collaboration, Stussy has now created a collection of rugs in partnership with the Artisan Project, a women’s weaving cooperative based in Morocco.
Arriving in 30 unique designs, the boucherouite rugs are made using archival T-shirts from the streetwear brand’s warehouse in Irvine, California. Each piece takes inspiration from Stussy’s roots and surfboards, as well as vintage Moroccan carpets, as spotted on the different checkerboard and color-blocked patterns. The team-up marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership between the fashion brand and the Artisan Project.
Limited to 30 pieces only, the collaborative rugs will drop exclusively on Stussy’s website and regional sites on September 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Peep the creations above.
