Balenciaga Launches Sunglasses With LED-Lit Logo

First introduced on the house’s SS20 runway.

Balenciaga has launched a pair of futuristic sunglasses equipped with LED lights. Initially introduced on the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 runway, the eyewear design adds to the Demna Gvasalia-helmed label’s ongoing exploration of technology in fashion.

The all-black frames come with thick, bold legs and rectangular lenses, while Balenciaga’s logo appears on the sides. The branding is illuminated with a lightweight LED system in various patterns and colors. Featuring a tap sensor, the piece lights up when the arms are fully extended or tapped three times, and will turn off when the glasses are folded or placed upside down on a surface. Wearers can get the light to blink or fade between a diverse range of colors including blue, red, green, purple, yellow and white.

Take a closer look above. The LED Frame Sunglasses retail for $1,035 USD at Balenciaga’s stores.
