With the rising interest in NFTs and the metaverse, more celebrities are tapping into the virtual space, including Eminem. The rapper most recently purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for $450,000 USD.

The graphic, dubbed “EminApe,” shows the signature Bored Ape figure dressed in a khaki army cap and a gold chain necklace, both often worn by Eminem in real life. The digital artwork was sold by BAYC member GeeGazza for 123.45 ETH, which roughly converts to $450,000 USD. “I still think Eminem is destined to buy my @BoredApeYC one day,” GeeGazza had tweeted back in November 2021.

This isn’t Eminem’s first NFT purchase — the musician already owns 15 virtual pieces on the OpenSea platform under the name “Shady Holdings.”

In related news, the world’s first text message has been sold as an NFT.
