Gucci Unveils Tiger-Centric Collection for Lunar New Year
Encompassing themed outerwear, accessories and pop-up store experiences.
In preparation for the Lunar New Year, Gucci is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with its “Gucci Tiger” ready-to-wear collection, campaign and pop-up experiences.
The capsule is spearheaded by T-shirts with “Gucci Tiger” wording and the brand’s signature multicolored monograms, which are stacked above watercolor illustrations of tigers amidst floral backgrounds. Elsewhere, a cardigan is splashed with a “GG” motif and a striking green placket, while a black sweater dons retro interlocking Gs in contrasting yellow. You can also opt for the sports jacket enveloped in a “GG” print with accents of navy, red and white on the cuffs and sleeves.
Creative director Alessandro Michele‘s affinity towards nature is evident throughout the line, as he reinterprets the late ’60s “Flora” design on loafers, slides, shoulder bags, wallets and watches. For the first time, the timepieces incorporate eco-friendly themes and are enveloped in the fashion house’s animal-free Demetra material, spotted on the recycled steel cases, dials and straps. A vibrant turquoise letter handbag rounds off the collection, with the red “Gucci Tiger” moniker displayed against a tan logo-filled background.
The collection is scheduled to drop on February 1 alongside a slew of pop-ups. In-store experiences at the luxury giant’s Holt Renfrew Yorkdale and Holt Renfrew Vancouver locations begin on January 14 and 17. The label’s locations at Las Vegas Forum Shops, Santa Clara Valley Fair, New York Wooster Street, Chicago Michigan Avenue and Manhasset will also receive a minor revamp.
