ROTATE Reworks Its Most Iconic Dresses in Latest Capsule

Dubbed “ICONS.”

Having recently launched a ski-themed collection, Copenhagen-based label ROTATE is back with a limited-edition capsule celebrating its roots.

The Danish brand helmed by Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimarsdottir dug into its archives, paying homage to its most iconic dress designs since its inception. Dubbed “ICONS,” the range features 11 styles that are reworked versions of the original designs.

“Having created so many beautiful and successful models during ROTATE’s lifetime, it felt like the right time to pay homage and create a time capsule for the most iconic of these designs,” Madsen and Valdimarsdottir exclusively shared with Hyepbae. “We have had a lot of personal favorites over the years and we are grateful that these models are often the most popular styles with our customers too… We chose to work with unique fabrics for each dress, from black vinyl material with cut-out detailing to poofy pink crystal embellished tuille to signature sequins and ornate floral beaded embellishments, the fabrics were chosen to make each dress a stand-out moment. The colors for this collection share a muted approach, focusing on softer tones, to put full focus on the designs and fabrics themselves.”

Inspired by red carpet glamour, the collection was featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week earlier this year as a secret sneak peek. Standouts include an exaggerated puff sleeve midi dress, which is reworked with tasseled sequins. Meanwhile, a silver woven white fabric is used to craft a high-neck mini-dress.

The creatives further shared, “We would love to see the dresses on the red carpet. But quintessentially, the collection is designed for the ROTATE woman, the pieces have been crafted from the most universal and popular styles and crafted in the most exquisite fabrics in order to create one-of-a-kind, investment pieces that you will wear and keep forever.”

Take a closer look at the collection above. The “ICONS” capsule is featured in a 3D campaign viewable exclusively on ROTATE’s website and will be available at select retailers with prices ranging from €400 to €1,100 EUR (approximately $3,162 to $8,694 USD).
