ASICS x KASSL Editions' Gel-Nimbus 9 Merge BDSM With Sportswear

Amsterdam-based fashion collective KASSL Editions has reimagined the classic dad shoe into something much sexier as it has reunited with Asics to update the Gel-Nimbus 9.
In an interview with Hypebeast, the group reflects on the partnership, sharing, “We really like working together with ASICS and connecting the world of ASICS to the world of KASSL. Although we are quite different as brands, where [we're] less casual and sporty, we do think it goes hand in hand quite well.”
While many may turn to the footwear brand for functional styles, ASICS’s latest collaborative creation bears a more raunchy, statement-making aesthetic as the sneaker is dripping in black melted rubber, The material naturally solidifies around the shoe, encasing it in a material inspired by KASSL Editions’ Matrix-inspired coats. The collective adds that the technique undoubtedly “merg[es] both brand core values. Recreating the timeless KASSL coat in surprising and innovative materials is something that comes back in all collections.”
The experimental and inventive method coupled with its avant-garde aesthetic results in a shoe that is entirely in a league of its own. The sneaker boasts a glossy finish that enrobes the open-pore mesh toe box, vamp and tongue the tongue branding, the complementing heel, as well as the interior and outer sole.
The updated Gel-Nimbus 9 is not one to miss as only 150 pairs are available for purchase at Dover Street Market London and its online store, or KASSL Editions’ website now.
