Elon Musk Asked Twitter if He Should Step Down, and It Said Yes

“You’re tacky and we hate you,” – Twitter, probably.

Elon Musk just lost a poll on Twitter which means that, technically, he has to step down as head of the social media app.

On December 18, the billionaire shared a poll with the caption “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” with the option of answering yes or no. Unsurprisingly, the poll results are in and it appears they’re not in Musk’s favor.

57.5% of voters said yes, with 42.5% saying no, meaning that the majority voted for Musk to step down. It’s unclear as to what brought the question on, but honestly, if he decides to go through with it then we’re inclined to say it doesn’t matter why. Since he took over earlier this year, Musk’s social media reign has quite clearly not gone to plan for anyone involved — including the billionaire himself — so we’re not surprised that he might suddenly want to step away. Whether he will or not though, that remains to be seen.

Check out the poll for yourself below.
