New Balance's Rainier Boot To Drop In 2 New Colorways
A hiking-inspired silhouette.
Aside from its steady sellers such as the 550 and the recent 90/60, New Balance is building on its lineup of the Rainier boot with new colorways.
The hiking-inspired silhouette, which was last seen back in 2016, made a comeback earlier this year in October after a six-year hiatus. The style, which is continuing its grand return with an Aimé Leon Dore collaboration due in mid-December, is now updated in two colorways as part of New Balance’s main line.
The first iteration is dubbed “Raincloud,” arriving with a gray base on the upper with shaggy suede overlays and mesh underlays. The kicks maintain a tonal look throughout, with slight contrast found on the ankle and sole in a darker hue. The outsole is highlighted with speckled detailing, and the metal boot eyelets complete the design.
Meanwhile, the teal/tan Rainier boot dons a bolder makeup with the shaggy suede overlays covered in a brown hue. New Balance’s logo is subtly embossed on the laterals, while the teal mesh underlays add a pop of color. The design is rounded out with both colors woven into the shoelaces.
Take a closer look at both pairs in the gallery above. Both iterations of the Rainier will release on January 17, 2023 via New Balance and select retailers with a $170 USD price tag.
