Prince Harry Admits To Being "Terrified" in the New 'Harry & Meghan' Trailer
The couple gets candid about their struggles.
UPDATE (December 5, 2022): Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not holding back when it comes to their upcoming docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
Netflix has released the official trailer, a few days after the first teaser, and it shows a side of the couple we’ve never seen before. In the new preview, they briefly discuss how their lives took a dark turn after getting married.
“It’s really hard to look back at it now and go, ‘What on earth happened?’” Harry says. “Everything changed.”
“There’s a hierarchy of the family. You know, there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories,” he continued. “It’s a dirty game. The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy. I was terrified. I didn’t want history to repeat itself.”
Harry also teases unveiling everything that’s happened, possibly between him and the Royal Family. “No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth,” he adds.
Harry & Meghan premieres on Netflix as two parts; Vol I drops on December 8 and Vol II releases on December 15. Watch the official trailer above.
ORIGINAL STORY (December 1, 2022): Your first look at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, has arrived.
The teaser trailer begins with intimate photos of the couple, including them kissing and Meghan showing off her baby bump. It also gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look into their personal lives, especially their struggles in the spotlight as part of the Royal Family.
“No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors,” says Prince Harry. “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.” Then Meghan adds, “When the stakes are this high, does it make more sense to hear our story from us?”
The end of the teaser trailer simply states the documentary is “coming soon.” However, PEOPLE previously reported that the Netflix docuseries is expected to premiere before the holidays.
Liz Garbus is directing Harry & Meghan, which the former actor previously opened up about. “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story — a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired — even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it,” Meghan told Variety in October. “But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.”
