Byredo Introduces New Astronomical Mascara to Its Makeup Line

After expanding its makeup offering with an array of nude lipstick shades, Byredo is now launching its new Astronomical Mascara.
Joining the brand’s existing eyelash enhancers including the Space Black and Tears In Rain mascaras, the Astronomical Mascara is designed to give the lashes a precise new dimension in one single stroke. Formulated with natural ingredients, the vegan formula provides a buildable and voluminous impact.
In its campaign, the Astronomical Mascara is captured through the lens of renowned photographer Hugo Comte. The imagery features musician Arca, who embodies the Byredo approach to beauty: autonomous, experimental and proudly individual.
“Byredo beauty is as different to the norm as our approach to scent. As I started to really look at the beauty world, I found much of it conservative and conventional. Ultimately, beauty is subjective — and Byredo Makeup reflects that. I wanted to create a sense of freedom in the way we communicate the products,” brand founder Ben Gorham notes in a press release.
He adds, “Arca is the zeitgeist, and she represents modernity. We love her, and we love the clarity of Hugo’s images, so we thought they were the perfect combination to create some beautiful portraits together.”
