Gigi Hadid and Mica Argañaraz Will Donate Fashion Week Earnings to Ukraine
The models pledge their money in support of both Ukraine and Palestine.
As the world watches the current conflict in Ukraine unfold, many celebrities have stepped up, donating money to aid Ukrainian refugees. Among them are models Gigi Hadid and Mica Argañaraz who have recently vowed to donate their earnings from fashion week to not only help Ukraine, but the Palestinian struggle as well.
Hadid, who claims Palestine as her ancestral home through her father, noted that her packed runway schedule makes it difficult to properly give her attention to the strife and pain happening in the Eastern European country, sharing on Instagram, “Having a set fashion month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall/Winter 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”
The Versace model’s younger sister Bella Hadid has long been vocal about her support for human rights, so her older sibling’s generosity should come as no surprise.
