Hunter Schafer Reveals The Real Reason Behind Jules' Short Hair On 'Euphoria' Season 2
The actor begged show creator Sam Levinson to let her cut it.
Known for its aesthetics as much as the plotline, Jules’ hair on Euphoria was arguably an extension of the character’s inner development, with the ends of her ethereal platinum blonde locks dyed a different color to represent her mood through the first season. Although season two ended last week, Hunter Schafer is finally offering fans insight into why her character’s signature hair was different.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the model and actor shared that she wanted to make the big chop, long before the show started, saying, “I’ve been wanting to cut my hair for a long time, even before season one probably. I was a model at the time, and the agencies have first say over what you do with your look. So I hadn’t really had the opportunity to change it when I was a model.” After the constant dying from the first season left her hair damaged, Schafer was begging HBO Max show creator Sam Levinson to let her cut it, revealing, “my hair was fried from being bleached so much, so I just wanted to chop as much off as I could.”
Love it or hate it, Jules style is definitely her own.
