5 Things You Didn't Know About 'Bridgerton' Star Phoebe Dynevor
The actor returns to Season 2, reprising her role as Daphne Bridgerton.
Dearest reader, Bridgerton has finally returned to Netflix, and we finally get to see Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) love story unfold. To give you a recap of Season 1, the series followed the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) who made her debut onto Regency London’s marriage market. After coming across a couple of hurdles along the way, Daphne was able to be with the love of her life, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page), also known as the Duke of Hastings.
The second season of the show, which is based on Julia Quinn’s second Bridgerton novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me, highlights Anthony’s search for a wife. While the focus will be on Bailey’s character this time around, Dynevor will be making an appearance in select episodes as her original role.

1. She comes from a showbiz family.
For those who aren’t familiar with the U.K.’s entertainment industry, Dynevor’s mom, Sally Dynevor, is best known for her role as Sally Webster in the popular soap opera Coronation Street. Meanwhile, her dad, Tim Dynevor, is a screenwriter for Emmerdale.
2. She started acting at the age of 14.
At the young age of 14, Dynevor landed the role of Siobhan Mailey in Season 5 of British drama series Waterloo Road. Afterward, she starred in Monroe and The Musketeers.
3. She dated Pete Davidson.
Before Kim Kardashian, there was Phoebe Dynevor. You read that right, Pete Davidson dated the Bridgerton star last year, as reported by People. According to reports, Dynevor and Davidson first linked in March 2021. Four months later, the two made their first public appearance as a couple in London. However, they called it quits in August 2021 after only being together for five months.
4. She’s an ambassador for ActionAid UK.
Dynevor became an ambassador for ActionAid U.K. last year. To commemorate their partnership, the actor starred in the international charity’s campaign that raised awareness about how women and girls are impacted by climate change.
5. She learned how to ride a horse sidesaddle for Bridgerton.
While filming for Season 1 of Bridgerton, Dynevor had to learn how to ride a horse sidesaddle. Despite acquiring a new skill, the actor hoped for her character, Daphne, to demonstrate a different style instead. “There’s a scene where Daphne has to jump on a horse and quite quickly get somewhere, and I really pushed for her to be riding astride as opposed to sidesaddle,” she shared with Elle. “I thought that wouldn’t be like her — when something quite desperate was happening, she wouldn’t be sidesaddle.”
