
A Studio Ghibli Exhibition Is Coming This Summer
Highlighting iconic films like ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ and ‘Spirited Away.’
Studio Ghibli is set to showcase its iconic animations in exhibitions arriving in Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan this summer.
The show will be highlighting the works of Toshio Suzuki, a long-time friend and collaborator of Hayao Miyazaki. Fans will be able to view films through the lens of Suzuki with a range of installations for an interactive experience.
The space will feature a large bookshelf housing 8,800 of Suzuki’s publications, including those he worked on at a manga magazine before he joined Studio Ghibli. The bathhouse from Spirited Away will also receive a life-size installation exclusively in Tokyo.

The Toshio Suzuki and Ghibli Exhibition will run from April 23 to June 19 at the Museum of Kyoto, and from July 1 to September 7 at Tokyo’s Warehouse Terrada. Tickets are priced at ¥1,800 JPY (approximately $15 USD) for adults and ¥1,500 JPY (approximately $13 USD) for students.
