Hoyeon Jung Might Return to 'Squid Game' Season 2
Potentially playing her original character’s twin.
Hoyeon Jung rose to fame after her debut in Netflix‘s Squid Game last year, which earned her the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
While Jung’s character Kang Sae-byeok didn’t make it to the end of the competition, fans of the show have grown quite fond of the South Korean actor. Speaking to Deadline on the PGA Awards’ red carpet, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk shared that Jung might return to the upcoming season.
“Can we expect to see some cast members coming back somehow?” Deadline asked. “No, because most of them are dead,” Hwang answered laughing. “I’ll try something to bring them back to Season 2,” he added while Jung was gesturing beside him. “Let’s say maybe she has a twin sister, you’ll see.” Jung laughed and added: “I could change my hair color. Let’s do a little like plastic surgery.”
Hwang is still in the brainstorming stage for Squid Game Season 2 and has yet to write the official script. “There will be more great games, that’s all I can say,” he revealed.
