Demi Lovato Subtly Updates Her Pronouns
The singer has added the changes to her social media.
Demi Lovato has quietly made changes to her pronouns. For some time, Lovato only used they and them pronouns, however, now she’s added she and her as well.
The subtle change can be seen on the nonbinary musician’s Instagram bio. “They/them/she/her” is what Lovato has chosen to be referred as.
In 2021, the “Cool for the Summer” artist began using they/them pronouns. However, Lovato has been very understanding of anyone who mistakenly misgenders her.
“If you misgender me — that’s OK. I accidentally misgender myself sometimes,” Lovato wrote at the time. She also called it a “huge transition” in her life. She continued, “As long as you keep trying to respect my truth, and as long as I remember my truth, that shift will come naturally. I’m just grateful for your effort in trying to remember what means so much to my healing process.”
