We’re Kicking "Glazed Donut" Nails to the Curb for "Vanilla French" Manicures
The mani bestie to your french vanilla latte.
UPDATE (August 8, 2023): “Clean nails” are the latest trend to hit this summer. Zola Ganzorigt, a celebrity nail manicurist, introduced the “Vanilla French” manicure during the mid-winter/early spring season and girls everywhere are trying to keep up with the trend, as seen on celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie.
This summer’s theme seems to be “old money” and high-glamour luxury aesthetics, and it all starts with your nails. Your mani and eyebrows are the first things people look at when conversing, so you must keep everything on “fleek.” Although we previously mentioned that it was going to be a “Naked Nail” summer, if you do decide to add some color to your claws, the “Vanilla French” look will be perfect for you.
Below, we’re back with more nail looks to add to your collection before your next salon visit. Don’t forget to tag Hypebae’s Beauty IG if you decide to try out any of these looks for a chance to be featured.

Original (January 19, 2023): TikTok’s “Vanilla Girl” aesthetic has made its way over to the nail space, and we have to say it’s quite delicious. These days, the girls are pairing their french vanilla latte with a chic vanilla french manicure.
Conceptualized by the nail visionary, celebrity manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, our favorite A-listers Kylie Jenner, Nicola Peltz Beckham and other red carpet favorites have already been seen sporting the trend. Ganzorigt coined the term “vanilla french” in an Instagram post and we see why it has picked up a following. The look is a subtle and clean update on the classic French manicure. French manicures are known to be soft and elegant, but the vanilla french style takes it a step further with its toned-down white tip. To achieve the moment, Ganorigt pairs two OPI nail polishes in beigey pinks and a soft white hue to create a covetable muted look — giving a “your-nails-but-better” finish.
For those inclined to try “Vanilla French” nails, we’ve included more of the breakdown ahead for you to try at home. Keep reading on for more.
