While runway beauty looks don’t always seem wearable, they’re undoubtedly shaping the trends that are soon to be all over our feeds. Fashion month has proven to be the earliest signal for where makeup, hair and nail trends are headed. This season, Spring/Summer 2027 beauty is all about playfulness over practicality. From feather nails to skin drenched in sparkles, brands like Kim Shui and SHOWPONY are proving beauty carries a show just as much as the collections do.

Uncanny Eyelashes
On the Paris Fashion Week runway, eyelashes took many forms. From alien-esque white lashes at Rick Owens to feathers as lashes at Mugler and upside down strip lashes at Ann Demeulemeester, lashes were more absurd than ever before.
Nostalgic Side Parts
Gen Z might’ve grabbed hold of the middle part, but the 2000s side part is back and here to stay. At Paloma Wool, Julie Kegels and Elie Saab, the side part spanned flowy blowouts, messy faux bobs and neat slicked-back updos.
Barely-There Eyebrows
Fashion month is always in search of fresh ways to reinvent the brow, which often means erasing it completely. Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino and Blumarine all championed ultra-light, undetectable eyebrow looks.
Primary Hues
A red lip has long been a runway staple. While Diesel put its own twist on the classic color by pairing it with a matching vivid hair look, Leo Prothmann and Jil Sander‘s bold yellow and blue eye looks are proof that primary colors complement so many of the season’s buzziest collections.
Glittery Everything
Of course sparkly eyeshadow is a New York Fashion Week staple, but on the Spring/Summer 2027 runway, glitter extends beyond the eyes. While Anna Sui sent dreamy shimmery eye looks down the runway, Wiederhoeft emphasized chunky, glitter highlight to match and SHOWPONY took the trend even further with faces soaked in glitter.
Anti-Blush
Although ultra-saturated, pink blushes have had their moment, the SS27 runway is predicting that anti-blush will be far more impactful in 2027. Making use of muted, skin-like shades, brands like Conner Ives, Sandy Liang and Coach all highlighted barely-there blush rather than the usual bright, flushed cheeks.
Impractical Nails
While some runway beauty looks are wearable in our everyday routines — others, like impractical nail sets, are meant to be fleeting. At Kim Shui, models wore feather nails to match the collection’s maximalist aesthetic, and at SHOWPONY, things took an absurdist turn thanks to nails adorned with deadstock strands of hair.
