Han Kjøbenhavn FW23 "Chtonic Penumbra" Delivers Surrealist Drama

Danish brand Han Kjøbenhavn is reaching for new heights in its Fall/Winter 2023 collection, “Chtonic Penumbra” for Milan Fashion Week. The imaginative label delivers deeply sculptural silhouettes and otherworldly textures.
Ensembles are carefully constructed with no detail escaping consideration as headwear is teeming with tassels, giving way to floor-sweeping gowns. Elsewhere, the heavily frayed textile completely enrobes one of the Danish label’s muses, resulting an avant-garde shroud of mystery. Elsewhere, the impossible becomes a reality as simple tops are replaced by 3-D silver waves swirling around models’ necks and are effortlessly tucked into liquid metal skirts. The collection is imbued with a palatable futuristic sense of regality arrives in the form of a deservedly dramatic open chest blouse, reserving fabric for extravagantly oversized, billowing sleeves.
Meanwhile, smoky gray latex is modeled into a curve-hugging dress, complete with a glamorous cape, whereas a sultry tight-fitting red iteration puts everything on display, thanks to its mesh body, save for a vampiric face covering.
