A New Era of Bottega Veneta Green Has Arrived
Highlighted through Matthieu Blazy’s inaugural showcase at Milan Fashion Week.
Matthieu Blazy presented his inaugural show for Bottega Veneta at the Fall/Winter 2023 season of Milan Fashion Week and it was probably one of the most highly-anticipated shows of the season.
Since taking over from former creative director, Daniel Lee, (aka the current creative director at Burberry,) all eyes have been on Blazy to see how he steers the Veneta ship into an all-new direction. So far though, it seems that Blazy was definitely the right person for the job, as the Winter 2023 showcase proved that Bottega still has a lot of surprises up its sleeve.
Back-to-front blazers, maxi-length knitwear and a muted shade of mint green dominated the runway, while oversized accessories and deliberately cozy silhouettes paved the way for an effortless, “woke up like this” style of dressing, punctuated by faux ostrich feather gowns and leather cut-outs. Merging casual off-duty style with extravagant design details, Blazy’s debut satisfied both sides of the spectrum, and then some.
