Rihanna Simultaneously Scores 5 Albums on the Billboard 200's Top 50
Making her the seventh act in the last 50 years to achieve this.
Though it’s been over seven years since Rihanna dropped an album, five out of her eight studio albums are currently all in the top 50 spots on the Billboard 200 chart. She is the seventh artist to achieve this in the last five decades.
The sudden resurgence is most likely due to her recent Super Bowl halftime show performance on February 12. Anti (2016), which is her latest album, went from charting No. 50 to No. 8. Meanwhile, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) went from No. 137 to No. 15, Unapologetic (2012) went from No. 197 to No. 18, Loud (2010) re-entered at No.26 and Talk That Talk (2011) re-entered at No. 49.
At this rate, Rihanna could be adding a new album to the charts. In a new interview with British Vogue, the singer-slash-entrepreneur revealed she would like to drop a new LP sometime this year. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year,” she told the outlet. “But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos. And I need the right background music with the visuals. I can’t just go shoot a video to me talking.”
