Ariana Grande Opens up About Her Health and Addresses Body-Shaming Comments
“I was on a lot of antidepressants, drinking on them, eating poorly,” she admits.
Ariana Grande has taken to TikTok to send an important message regarding body image. There has been lots of talk and criticism online after a recent photos of Grande surfaced, in which many claim she looks different than her usual self.
“I don’t do this often. I don’t like it. I’m not good at it,” she began her video. “I just wanted to address her concerns on my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to. I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what. If you think you’re saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is … We should really work towards not doing that as much.”
She then elaborated on how she’s actually in a much better place now contrary to what many believe. “The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,” she explained. “I was on a lot of antidepressants, drinking on them, eating poorly, and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider ‘my healthy.’”
