Meet Of Other Worlds Skincare, the Former Beauty Editor Founded Brand That Focuses on the Needs of the BIPOC Queer Community

When someone with expertise and experience in the beauty industry creates their own brand, you can expect nothing but the best. And when that brand is dedicated to skincare, you can be confident that it will revolutionize your daily routine. This is why Hypebae Beauty was excited to hear about the drop of, Of Other Worlds, the new skincare brand launched by former beauty editor Simedar Jackson.
Jackson’s perspective on the beauty industry is truly one-of-a-kind. With experience as a beauty editor, licensed esthetician and brand educator for a major skincare company, they have gained invaluable insights into the world of skincare and the needs of Black, brown and queer communities. Now, as a founder, Jackson is well-equipped to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the beauty industry.
It was quite a challenge to launch Of Other Worlds, but Jackson was up for it. They left their corporate job and returned to Chicago to start grassroots initiatives. They worked hard on building their community, and eventually, their brand was chosen to be a part of the 2023 Sephora Accelerate cohort program. This was a huge honor and it came just in time for their June launch.
Of Other Worlds debuts its inaugural product, the “Light Beams” Barrier Treatment.
