Enter CELINE's "AGE OF INDIENESS" This Winter Season

Hedi Slimane is firmly entering the “AGE OF INDIENESS,” continually drawing on the indie sleaze aesthetic prevalent for much of the ’90s and early 2000s.
Evidenced through CELINE‘s recent Winter 2023 runway show, Slimane set the scene by hosting the showcase at the Los Angeles institution, The Wiltern, once home to musical performers like Prince, Amy Winehouse and The Rolling Stones. For Winter 2023, The Wiltern became home to Iggy Pop, The Strokes and Interpol, as CELINE ushered in a new era of indie opulence.
Presenting a co-ed runway show comprising menswear and womenswear, CELINE offered a meeting point between ’90s indie and contemporary luxury, presenting skinny leather trousers, sequinned tops and an abundance of accessories. Elsewhere, classic riding boots presented the perfect juxtaposition between off-duty and ready-to-rock, while tailored blazers, faux fur jackets and ludicrously capricious bags more than made up for the luxury portion of the collection.
