Sabrina Ionescu Drops First Signature Shoe -- Nike Sabrina 1

Hitting shelves in August.

Rising WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu is getting her first signature shoe as Nike has unveiled the Sabrina 1 in her honor.

The New York Liberty guard is staking her claim as the sneaker makes its debut in the “Ionic” colorway. Nodding to the athlete’s superior quickness and agility, the Sabrina 1 features full-length React cushioning and Zoom Air unit embedded into forefoot. The midfoot comes outfitted with a band system and lockdown cables that keep the foot secure and stable. The sneaker’s design is full of subtle references as the soft grey mesh base is covered in ornate embroidery near the forefoot and eyestays, points to Ionescu’s heritage, as well as traditional Romanian art and architecture. A dotted “i” rests on the heels, nodding to the player’s last name, whereas the all-too familiar Swoosh is slightly slanted, visually expressing the obstacles and barriers Ionescu has overcome. Hidden “Anyone, Anywhere” quotes on the midsoles symbolize her indomitable spirit, infusing the wearer with her confidence and resilience. Inoescu’s signature insignia can be found embedded into the tongues, while a lilac and pint outsole complete the shoe.

Joining the sneaker is a curated collection of apparel, featuring comfy pullover hoodies, T-shirts, shorts and socks. Dropping on August 3,  the Nike Sabrina 1 is priced at $125 USD and available via Nike and select retailers.
