Photography giant Polaroid continues its stylish ventures by teaming up with NEIGHBORHOOD, marking another exciting intersection of streetwear and visual art. Known for collaborations with Nike SB and Carrots, Polaroid now enlists the Japanese label to reimagine the signature SX-70 Alpha instant film camera.
In 2018, Polaroid made waves with the sacai collaboration that transformed the SX-70 model. This time, NEIGHBORHOOD steps in, giving the SX-70 Alpha a luxurious twist with a crocodile leather exterior, maintaining the camera’s classic folding design.
NEIGHBORHOOD’s unique touch shines as its “CRAFT WITH PRIDE” logo accompanies the traditional Polaroid branding on the rear, symbolizing its commitment to quality.
The NEIGHBORHOOD x Polaroid SX-70 Alpha model will be available exclusively through NEIGHBORHOOD’s online store. The limited raffle begins on August 10 at 11 pm EDT and until August 11 at 11 pm EDT, with results revealed on August 16 at 11 pm EDT. Shipping is within Japan.
While pricing remains undisclosed, the 2018 sacai collaboration was priced at ¥110,000 JPY (around $981 USD).
