In Therapy? 92% Of Americans Think That’s Hot
A study reveals the new rules of therapy and dating.
Pure dating app highlights a rising wellness trend we just can’t ignore.
There was once a time when therapy and mental health were grand faux pas in the dating world. Now? People eating it up, Pure reports. According to Pure’s study of 1,000 Americans over the age of 18, “mental health is no longer viewed as a red flag in America’s dating scene — 92% of Americans prefer dating those who’ve been to therapy.”
And it doesn’t end there. 50% of Americans also found bringing up therapy on the first date attractive, while only 4% found it to be a red flag. However, Pure’s in-house experts stated “That’s not to say that you should trauma dump on your date the second they sit down, but there’s no harm done if it happens to come up in conversation.”
When people learn that you’re in therapy, they reportedly feel that you are “self-aware, seeking self-improvement and open to working through life’s problems.” They also feel that they are less likely to be ghosted if their counterpart is unsatisfied with the connection. All of which are major green flags.
