Nike Is Wading in the Water, Adding a Gaiter to the Air Force 1 Low

Perfect for getting down and dirty.

Nike is bracing itself for inclement weather this fall as the brand has just added a gaiter to the tried and true Air Force 1 Low.

This isn’t the first time Nike has opted for a functional approach as it outfitted the Air Max Scorpion with a gaiter earlier this year. Now, the Air Force 1 Low is following suit, taking a different shape than we’re used to seeing.

The outdoor-ready sneaker boasts a fitting olive green and brown color palette, painting the gaiter itself in a mixture of light and dark green with a yellow base for the toggles at the bottom. Meanwhile, Nike takes on a sporty logo, placing its moniker on a mountain. Once the gaiter is removed, an earth-toned silhouette is revealed as the Air Force 1 Low welcomes sandy brown overlays and olive green suede uppers. A mustard yellow touches the laces and the interior lining, while a black outsole and white midsole tie the sneaker together.

Nike has yet to confirm the release of the gaiter-ized Nike Air Force 1 Low, but stay tuned as it should hit shelves at the end of the year via Nike and select retailers.
