Megan thee Stallion releases the music video for her latest single, “HISS,” featuring our favorite NSFW art form.
Released Friday, January 26, Stallion’s new single follows her “Cobra” single, addressing the past year of her life. Tapping the symbolism of a snake, known for transmutation and shedding of old skin, the “WAP” rapper takes her delivery to new heights with rope bondage.
Captured in red and orange lighting, symbolizing her sacral, or sensual energy, the Texas rapper is suspended as she raps her lethal lyrics. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” she rapped in reference to Nicki Minaj‘s partner, convicted predator. In just one weekend, Minaj has responded and social media crowned its winner as none other than thee Stallion. In fact, in the world of social media currency, Stallion earned over 250K followers, while Minaj lost 175K.

For those unfamiliar, the win is layered as Shibari, once used as a form of torture in Japan, was adopted by many subcultures, especially the BDSM world. Sex-positive rapper, Stallion, often references BDSM in videos such as, “FREAK” featuring Tyga. The art form has slowly forayed into mainstream, quietly crowned as 2023’s most subversive fashion trend. The lyrics merged with her bold references, seemingly put an end to any rap “beef” thrown her way since the Tory Lanez shooting in 2020.
Stallion’s use and reclaiming of Shibari’s artistry futures her message: she cannot be defeated.

Following the success of “HISS,” Stallion and team have begun rolling out exclusive behind-the-scenes looks for fans. Celebrity couture designer, Natalia Fedner who created the Houston rappers custom look revealed it was a “red silk chiffon,” moment inspired by “capillaries,” or blood vessels. Aiming for an organic look, each piece of silk chiffon was hand placed to resemble blood pumping through her veins. Then, each piece was seemingly incorporated to the Shibari suspension, resulting in the final, ethereal look.
