Raisa Flowers Brings Makeup Magic to Renell Medrano's Inaugural 'ICE Magazine' Issue
Dedicated to the girl who is relentlessly herself.
Raisa Flowers has lent her makeup artistry to the first issue of Renell Medrano‘s ICE Magazine — bringing a touch of creativity and beauty expertise to the publication’s debut.
Flowers is a talented makeup artist known for her work in the beauty and fashion industries through team ups with Rihanna, Pat McGrath, Theophilio, Off-White, Fenty, Vogue and Tush. Gaining recognition for her ability to enhance diverse beauty styles, she is often celebrated for her edgy and bold makeup looks.
“I am grateful I could be a part of such a vision. This whole thing was inspired by Players Magazine, which was a softcore magazine that featured all Black women,” Flowers said in an Instagram post. The artist even worked with her little sister for this project, who graces one of the four covers.

Medrano’s first issue is dedicated to her “ice girls,” or women who are “relentlessly themselves,” the Dominican-American photographer said in an Instagram post. Medrano set out to bring her vision to life by starting with an open casting call, eventually finding a bevy of beautiful women to photograph. “[I] started this one to create a space for women to express themselves and to feel powerful. It was important to us to open this up to the real girls that make up our Ice Community.”
Born in the Bronx, the accomplished artist’s work is inspired by both the Dominican Republic and New York City. She finds that vulnerability is the most beautiful quality and seeks to highlight it in her photography.
