Hypebeans and Sanrio Brew Up A Kuromi Café Pop-Up
In celebration of Kuromi’s 20th anniversary in 2025.
Hong Kong is packed with café gems but if you haven’t checked out Hypebeans, you’re missing out. Part of the Hypebeast family, Hypebeans is a small, minimalist cafe spot that has two locations in Hong Kong and one in Tokyo. Embracing a playful and nostalgic vibe, the coffee concept brand teamed up with Sanrio to launch the Hypebeans Kuromi Café in celebration of Sanrio’s character Kuromi and her 20th anniversary next year. It’s the perfect spot to get your daily sweet treat and of course, for all the girlies hunting their next adorable find.
The collaboration transforms the cafe into something out of Kuromi’s world. The space is bathed in her signature purple hues, with playful details like a neon-lit silhouette of Kuromi’s head.
The merch is just as irresistible, featuring a plush charm, a latte plush toy, a purple Nalgene water bottle, tumblers, tote bags and T-shirts. Each in-store purchase even comes with a randomly selected Kuromi Café sticker to sweeten the deal.
For the limited menu options, Hypebeans is teaming up with artisan bakery Fifty Cake to create an ube madeleine. This delightful treat is infused with brown sugar mochi and drizzled in chocolate, making it a perfect blend of flavors. For beverages, the highlight is an ube latte topped with an adorable Kuromi design made from ube powder.
