Soma Ayurvedic Launches Gourmand Fragrance with New Creative Lead

“Vanilla Muse” marks the first fragrance under Seerat Saini’s direction.

Soma Ayurvedic, the fragrance brand known for its Ayurvedic-inspired beauty products, is ready to launch its latest scent, “Vanilla Muse.” This is the brand’s first gourmand perfume oil, a zesty citrus and rich wood blend with just a touch of sweetness. Soma Ayurvedic is also introducing a new creative director to its team, South Asian content creator Seerat Saini, who will uphold the brand’s commitment to inclusivity, diversity and representation.

“Vanilla Muse” starts with Sicilian orange and bergamot at the top, which leads into lush strawberry and finally settles into a warm, earthy base of vanilla, leather, white musk and amber. The scent includes lemon essential oil, an olfactory medium that helps you start the day fresh and full of energy.

“My goal is to bring Ayurvedic and Indian-inspired fragrance to the global stage,” founder Arjun Sampath said in a statement to the press. Sampath is a self-taught beauty entrepreneur with no formal training in skincare or perfume, who was inspired by the centuries-old tradition of ayurvedic healing. His initial venture into beauty began with skincare, but his love of Ayurveda led him on an unexpected path into the world of fragrance. The breakthrough moment came when Soma’s Jasmine Body Oil, created from the purest jasmine flowers, quickly became a beloved product and bestseller — but for an unexpected reason.

Customers began using it as a perfume and Sampath saw that fragrance was where the brand’s true potential could lie. From there, he planned a trip to Kannauj, India. The city is the perfume capital of the country, known for its centuries-old distillation practices. After that, Sampath began creating a line of fragrance oils that continued to connect him to his Ayurvedic roots.
