Di Petsa FW24 Celebrates "The Body As A Prayer"

Celebrating all forms of femininity and divine sexuality.

Known for transforming runways into ethereal healing sessions, Greek brand Di Petsa presents its Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Continuing to explore last season’s theme of Venus, the goddess of beauty and divine sexuality, this season celebrated “The Body As a Prayer.” Accompanied by the likes of Duckie Thot and Richie Shazam, the showcase explores the divinity of Venus through the act of dressing, the show notes revealed.

On its FW24 runway, the act of dressing is a “sacred ritual,” that not only adorns one’s body, but acts as a form of self-love and rebirth. Bringing the theme of divine sexuality and love to life, Di Petsa celebrates ancient archetypes ranging from The Virgin Mary to The Madonna, The Angel and The Temptress — archetypes that often conflict. For example, the Virgin Mary is more conservative, and the Madonna, often is used to represent the “whore.”

As live music by Flora Yin Wong plays and Di Petsa founder, Demetria Petsa, shares the poem below, “goddess muses” embodying the archetypes walked. Di Petsa’s signature wet dress took the form of a floor length White Wetlook Goddess Venus Dress, “adorned with clear quartz crystals and elements that elevated last season’s Pink Venus Silhouettes.

Tapping the Greek brand’s reputation for inclusive casting, pregnant mothers were celebrated and all body types were, as well. The Pregnancy White Wetlook Dress, was also decorated with clear quartz crystals and another standout item, the floor length upcycled coat, was given a dream-like essence through repurposed cotton to allude to “the warmth of the amniotic sack.”

All in all, the showcase celebrated femininity in all forms, from the nude to the adorned.

Frame  the chaos of my body

Flesh against metal

Silver Bells vibrate on my Skin

I close my eyes

Mary and Venus

And

My breast filled up for you

Warm Pain

In other news, once forbidden…. nipples are FW24 runways favorite sighting.
