Gen Z Sock Brand doublesoul Partners With Architect Gaetano Pesce

Introducing “Calzacuore.”

Gen Z-loved sock brand doublesoul is proving its important to wear your heart on your sleeve — or socks in this case, launching its latest collaboration with architect and designer Gaetano Pesce.

The 84-year-old creative visionary is known for his unique use of shape and color in the 20th century, undoubtedly influencing a generation of artists. While several decades apart, doublesoul shares Pesce’s love for whimsical design, creating cheerful socks that increase your serotonin with each step. The collaboration, dubbed “Calzacuore,” was born out of a meeting between the octogenarian designer and doublesoul’s founder Allison at their favorite Italian restaurant.

“Calzacuore” makes Pesce’s luxury designs accessible to a younger audience, introducing an entirely new generation to his inimitable imagination and artistry.  As Gaetano himself says, “Anything can be art, it depends on how you treat it.”  When thinking about his inspiration behind the collaboration, a yearning for tender loving care drives the range’s aesthetic forward. The esteemed designer continues in an exclusive statement, “Socks need to express things, they’re like a little animal that are always behind the shoe or sandal.”

The accessories are painted in three uber-saturated colors — baby pink, sky blue and sunny yellow. Textural fuzzy hearts decorate the accessories, cascading down the collar with strings. The limited-edition collection utilizes a special fluffy yarn to create more dimension, providing an ultra unique texture and feel. The 3D detail adds a childlike element to the design, encouraging wearers to spend time appreciating their socks rather than treating them as an after thought.

A limited collection of socks come with exclusive handmade resin heart charms, completing Pesce’s artistic vision. The accessory’s inherently hidden nature led Pesce to create the dangling hearts, infusing the socks with even more love and affection. The collaboration marries doublesoul’s superior comfort with Pesce’s bold and truly unique sense of design, offering a collection that is as beautiful as it is practical.

The “Calzacuore” collection is now available via doublesoul‘s online store for $35 USD for each pair and up to $150 USD for socks with resin handmade charms.
