Sephora and Hulu Drop Docuseries Exploring the Intersection of Beauty and Music
‘Faces of Music’ showcases legendary beauty looks from artists including Chappell Roan, Victoria Monét and Becky G.
Sephora and Hulu are teaming up to launch a docuseries that journeys into the world of music and how it connects to beauty. Faces of Music takes viewers behind the scenes of some of the world’s most beloved artists including Victoria Monét, Chappell Roan and Becky G, exploring how their pre-show rituals and makeup transform them into the icons we know and adore.
In the three episodes, the musicians discuss the power of self-expression and how beauty plays a role in preparing them for the stage. For Becky G, getting ready allows her to feel more like herself. In turn, she delivers an incredibly moving performance because of the strength she feels from her routine. Roan’s newfound stardom can be overwhelming — putting on her signature glam gives her the confidence to sing in front of an overwhelming crowd. Finally, Monét expresses how motherhood gives her a deep sense of acceptance and self-assurance.
“Sephora has long been a champion of honoring each individual’s self-expression,” said Zena Arnold, Chief Marketing Officer at Sephora U.S. in a press statement. “With Faces of Music, we’re taking that commitment to the next level, exploring the artistry demonstrated in beauty and music, showcasing how these incredible musical artists use both mediums as powerful tools to define themselves and share their art.”
