Madison Beer and Sean Kaufman Break up (in Her Latest Music Video)

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ star features in the “Bittersweet” video.

Madison Beer’s “Bittersweet” music video just dropped, and it features none other than The Summer I Turned Pretty star Sean Kaufman. The video sees Kaufman play the ex-boyfriend whom the singer is trying to move on from.

“Bittersweet” is Beer’s latest single, which she performed live at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. The video, co-directed with Iris Kim, follows the breakup of the pair, with Kaufman returning a box of her things and declaring, “We’re done.” Beer then sings, “Can’t believe it ends this way / Thought you’d always stay.” Going into the chorus, the singer’s newly single status is celebrated, showing her relief and lyrics that read “I know I should be bitter, but baby, right now I’m bittersweet.”

Kaufman’s appearance in the music video follows his role in the hit TV series The Summer I Turned Pretty, where he played Steven Conklin. The show concluded in September after an emotional third season and had the internet in a frenzy following the #TeamConrad or #TeamJeremiah debates. But actually, a lot of the audience are #TeamSteven with him being the third heartthrob of the show. One fan commented on the video, “I love him being a love interest! I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, he’s the handsomest on TSITP.” It’s no surprise that Madison Beer chose Kaufman to star in the heartbreaking video.
