Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela Are Back For Round 3

With 20 new eyewear silhouettes.

Viral eyewear label Gentle Monster is back with another stellar collaboration, this time teaming up with Maison Margiela for a third time. Exploring the intersection of classicism and futurism, the new collection includes 20 eyewear silhouettes that tap into cybercore aesthetics, crafted with metallic materials and tech-inspired cables.

Featuring 8 sunglasses and 12 optical frames, the collection offers statement silhouettes in hues of silver, green, navy, ivory, red, gray, tortoiseshell and black, each complete with Maison Margiela branding and distinctive end-tips. From chunky black frames and sleek grey wraparounds, the collection also includes delicate gold frames and chic tortoiseshell silhouettes, blending the latest eyewear trends into a fully-fledged optical offering.

To celebrate the new release, the brands have created a dynamic campaign, showcasing a “tension-filled interaction between two futuristic, unknown entities.” Accompanying the release and campaign is a slew of special pop-up spaces, set to be held across seven cities worldwide. Designed with cybercore-inspired human forms, sheer materials and abstract patterns, each space will aim to “evoke an unfamiliar emotional response.”

Take a look at the new collection above, available for purchase via Gentle Monster on March 6.
