Louis Vuitton and Murakami's Second Drop Is Coming

And it’s cherry blossom themed with Zendaya leading the campaign — of course.

Louis Vuitton rang in the New Year with a splash of Y2K nostalgia, releasing a new rendition of its iconic collaboration with Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami.

The Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection was headlined by Zendaya and was designed to roll out in two drops — one that arrived in January and the other in March. The capsule features over 200 pieces, from signature City Bags to playful accessories like silk scarves, sunglasses, sneakers, perfume bottles and even a skateboard.

To set the tone, Louis Vuitton unveiled an official campaign video featuring Takashi Murakami himself. In the clip, the artist sends a note from Japan to Zendaya in New York, marking the collection’s highly anticipated launch.

The global rollout kicked off with immersive pop-up activations that offered interactive experiences like cafés, cinemas and vending machines where buyers could grab quirky prizes, including stickers, Tamagotchis and trading cards.

As January fades into memory and March emerges in full bloom, the brand’s highly anticipated second release of this remarkable collaboration is officially on the way. Inspired by the delicate beauty of Japan’s cherry blossom season, this collection is a poetic tribute to spring, where the “Sakura” motif graces over 40 pieces. From the brand’s “Papillon” bags to elegant platform sandals, each design captures the fleeting magic of the season.

Zendaya teased the release on Instagram, spotlighting renditions of two beloved Louis Vuitton classics: the “Capucines Mini” and the “OnTheGo” tote, now adorned in the house’s signature Monogram canvas.

Louis Vuitton and Murakami’s second and final drop will be pre-launched online on Louis Vuitton’s website from March 14 before officially hitting stores worldwide on March 21.
