Burberry is back with its first sun-soaked release of the year, landing in the form of its new High Summer capsule collection. Playing host to a series of hotel takeovers at surprise locations and special events, Burberry is set to have a pretty major summer and has just the collection to wear for it, too.
Celebrating its new release is a vibrant campaign captured on 35mm film, which stars models Alva Claire and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and British tennis player Jack Draper. Described as “a Burberry celluloid postcard” by creative director Daniel Lee, the new campaign aims to capture “British idiosyncrasies” and takes inspiration from holiday images found in the brand’s archive.
“We wanted to capture the joy of the British at play,” adds Lee. “A kind of kick-start to the summer. Burberry is a brand for all the seasons, don’t forget,” he continues.
Blending Burberry signatures with contemporary designs, the new collection features checked swimwear, shirt dresses and crochet bags, with a less-than-subtle nautical theme underpinning the offering. Knots and sailboats are woven into the logo design, adorning silk dresses, shirts and shorts and are complemented by seasonal footwear like slides and espadrilles.
