The Coolest Fashion and Beauty Projects at Milan Design Week 2025
From Prada Frames to Miu Miu’s Literary Club.
Salone del Mobile, also known as Milan Design Week, is once again upon us, returning to its annual home in Italy on April 7. Returning to the design-lover’s schedule in 2023, after a three-year hiatus, the week is set to host an impressive selection of design-focused exhibitions and innovative experiences across fashion, art, food, music and more.
Initially, Salone only included furniture and design, but it has since expanded to include a range of different industries — particularly in the realms of food, fashion and beauty. Last year, names like RIMOWA, Gucci, FENDI and LOEWE attended the event with their contemporary collections, while this year plays host to luxury labels like Prada, Miu Miu and Versace.
As Milan Design Week continues, we’ve handpicked some of the coolest projects by our favorite fashion and beauty brands so far. Read on to find out more about this year’s installations and stay tuned for more coming soon.
Danish design house Georg Jensen opened the ultimate design week hotspot during this year’s Salone del Mobile, inviting guests to the Gelateria Danese. Described as an “ice cream cafe,” the chic destination offered a selection of coffee and iced treats, each served in Jensen’s signature silverware. Presenting “The Artisans Series,” aka the newest collection from the brand, the immersive experience aimed to showcase the ways in which silver can elevate the everyday.
Jimmy Choo x Harry Nuriev
Jimmy Choo teamed up with Harry Nuriev‘s Crosby Studios for a chic installation that showcased a selection of archival JC designs – including pieces from Sandra Choi’s personal collection. Housed on the ground floor of the brand’s Sant’Andrea flagship store, the installation featured a range of silhouettes juxtaposed with 3D-printed replicas.
Etro
Etro presented an exhibition during design week, titled “5 Threads: 40 Years,” which aimed to celebrate its signature paisley pattern. Documenting the print’s journey from design to manufacturing, the exhibition took place at the brand’s Via Pontaccio boutique in the heart of Brera.
Louis Vuitton Homeware
Louis Vuitton launched its first home collection during Design Week this year, featuring pieces spanning five categories: Objets Nomades, furniture and lighting, objects and textiles, tableware and exceptional gaming. Expanding its “Objets Nomades” collection, the new launch was displayed at the Milanese palace, Palazzo Serbelloni. Showcased amidst a backdrop of history, the collection translated Louis Vuitton’s leather goods legacy into the world of homewares, displayed as an immersive experience for guests and visitors.
LOEWE Teapots
As one of Jonathan Anderson‘s last hurrahs, LOEWE presented its 2025 Salone del Mobile collection, dubbed “LOEWE TEAPOTS.” Featuring a collection of teapots created by 25 different artists, designers and architects, the offering marks the ninth exhibition from LOEWE at design week and continues the brand’s ongoing relationship with the realms of art, design and craftsmanship. Each piece in the collection has been developed by a different artist, drawing from their own unique process, inspirations and techniques.
Completedworks Furniture
Completedworks, the London-based accessories label, is debuting its first-ever furniture collection this design week, comprising chairs, foot stools, consoles and coffee tables. With some pieces in the collection hand-built and sculpted with polystyrene, others are modelled in fabric and re-created in bronze using similar techniques used in jewelry making. Elsewhere, the collection includes pieces made from clay and wood, complete with a silver nitrate mirror finish. Leaning into the brand’s signature design details from its handbags and accessories, the new offering favors dreamy metallics, delicate bows and ornamental accents.
Have a Good Day by Humanrace and Pharrell
Humanrace is one of the few beauty brands taking part in this edition of Milan Design Week. Activating in three parts, the brand is hosting an immersive installation that “reimagines the role of the bathroom,” along with a wellness pop-up that will offer healthy refreshments and feature products from the Humanrace skincare range. The brand is also hosting a “Reborn” pop-up spa at the Four Seasons Hotel Milano.
Issey Miyake TYPE-XIII Atelier Oï Project
Issey Miyake is hosting a special exhibition in its Milan flagship during design week, titled “TYPE-XIII Atelier Oï project.” Developed in collaboration with Swiss design studio, atelier oi, and A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE, the unique installation features a range of lighting products crafted from single pieces of wire and cloth. Acting as prototypes for the project, visitors will have a first look at the collaborative release.
“La Prima Notte di Quiete” by Loro Piana and Dimoremilano
Loro Piana has teamed up with Dimoremilano at design week for the first time, and the result was pretty spectacular. Hosting an immersive experience at Loro Piana’s Cortile della Seta courtyard, the duo presented a fully-furnished “house” that takes inspiration from an apartment from the 197os. Featuring furniture designed by Dimorestudio and upholstered with Loro Piana fabrics, the home is steeped in seventies and eighties design inspo.
Aesop’s “The Second Skin”
Aesop is presenting an installation at Chiesa del Carmine titled “The Second Skin.” Acting as “an architectural ode to the epidermis,” the showcase is set in a historic 15th-century church courtyard, utilizing design to explore the inner workings of the dermis. Taking inspiration from the skin, and particularly, its functions of protection and sensation, the immersive experience is available to visit until April 13.
Prada Frames: In Transit
Prada Frames is returning to Milan for its fourth edition, taking place at the same time as design week. Curated by design and research studio Formafantasma, the 2025 edition of the symposium focuses on “ideas rather than products” and is hosting a series of discussions that take place aboard the Arlecchino train. Recently restored by the Fondazione FS Italiane, the unlikely location was first designed by Gio Ponti and Giulio Minoletti back in the 1950s.
Miu Miu Literary Club
Miu Miu’s Literary Club experience has also returned to Milan for Design Week, now in its second iteration. Titled “A Woman’s Education,” this year’s event is set to explore themes of girlhood, love and sex education. Unpacking the works of two international literary icons (for lack of a better word), 2025’s iteration explores pieces by Simone de Beauvoir and Fumiko Enchi. Featuring live music performances, poetry readings and conversations, the experience evolves Miu Miu’s commitment to literary culture and aims to start thought-provoking conversations around female empowerment.
Versace’s “The Art of Living”
Versace presented “The Art of Living” at its Versace Home showroom during design week, inviting guests to an immersive experience that celebrates three decades of “lifestyle innovation.” Featuring “emblematic fragments” from Versace’s long-standing cultural legacy, the showcase will debut directional furniture pieces, homeware and decorative furnishings along with Versace’s House icons. Standout pieces included the brand’s Harem chair, plus a stacked cushion seat that dates back to 2010.
Marimekko x Gohar World
Finnish design house Marimekko teamed up with NYC-based artist Laila Gohar, presenting an installation that opens on April 7 till April 13. Exploring “all the things we do in bed,” the showcase is set to be an immersive experience revolving around a grand-sized bed located in the foyer of Teatro Litta. Featuring playful, bedroom-themed items curated by Gohar, the installation features some of Marimekko’s signature prints — particularly the archive stripes created by artist Maija Isola. Nike x PAN “The Suspended Hour”
To celebrate the launch of the Air Max 180 “NIX,” Nike and PAN presented a spatial intervention titled “The Suspended Hour” at design week. Taking place at Capsule Plaza, the experience will explore the concept of “club culture as a sacred space,” tapping into its ritualistic environment and taking inspiration from the “fragmented recollection of a night out.” The installation has been designed in collaboration with Niklas Bildstein Zaar and Bill Kouligas and aims to explore themes of motion and movement.
