Palace and Dr. Martens Revive the Classic 1461 Boot
The new collaboration is “worth the wait.”
Palace just announced its newest collaboration, teaming up with the ever-iconic Dr. Martens to revive the classic 1461 silhouette. Blending its signature irreverence with Dr. Martens’ footwear heritage, the new Palace collaboration results in a collection of three boots crafted from vintage smooth leather.
Landing in colorways of black, cherry red and “Woodland Camo,” the boots each feature a BEN lugged outsole and DM’s classic yellow welt stitching. Each pair comes complete with a special-edition heel loop, which, for the first time in Dr. Martens’ history, replaces the “AirWair” text with “Palace.”
The boots also arrive with a Palace-branded bottle cap lace charm, which takes inspiration from the Grolsch swing-top bottle cap trend popularized in 1988. Bros singer Matt Gross first kicked off the trend, which saw fans attaching the cap to their 1461 shoes.
To celebrate the new collaboration, Palace and Dr. Martens dropped a short film starring punk poet John Cooper Clark alongside Palace skaters Lucien Clarke and Charlie Birch. The film also stars actor Serena Motola.
