Mariah the Scientist Releases "Burning Blue"

After months of anticipation, the Atlanta-bred singer lives up to the hype.

After months of teasing, singer Mariah the Scientist finally releases new music.

On May 2, the Atlanta-born musician released “Burning Blue.” The lyrics tell the story of a jaded, unavailable person who “melts” in the presence of their lover. ”As long as you’re a true (True) leader (Leader)… Then I’ll oblige, promise to please ya (Please ya),” she sings on the second verse. “But if you open fire, then it’s treason… And I decide to go out swinging… If you shoot, then you can bet… Every single dollar and your last few cents… That I will too, and I mean it… Tell me, where do we go from here?”

The hype surrounding “Burning Blue” proved to be worth it for the singer’s fan base. Her last project, To Be Eaten Alive, featured mostly short, two-minute songs. Between her rifts and vulnerability, Mariah the Scientist’s two-minute songs have long kept her fans craving more. As a result, the new single is all her fans care to discuss right now.

During a red carpet interview with Billboard, she confirmed that her next project is complete. However, a release date has yet to be shared. Recently, she confirmed that her partner, Young Thug, is releasing new music soon. The album is titled UY Scuti after the red supergiant star. “I can’t wait until May 9,” she wrote regarding the release date. “Pls change the date, Mr. Uy Scuti.”
