Angel Reese Makes WNBA History in Just 38 Games

Setting a new benchmark ahead of Tina Charles.

At this point, calling her a rising star feels like an understatement. Angel Reese has been blazing through the WNBA all season, but now, she’s made history as the fastest player.

Playing against the Phoenix Mercury (a 94–89 nail-biter), Reese racked up 13 points and snatched 15 rebounds. With that performance, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to hit 500 points and 500 rebounds — and she did it in just 38 games.

This also marks her shattering the previous record held by Tina Charles, who reached that milestone in 44 games. Reese has been stacking up double-doubles like it’s her side hustle. She led the entire league in rebounds last season (yep, as a rookie!) and she’s gunning for that title again.

Despite Reese’s incredible win, the WNBA completed its investigation into the racist remarks allegedly made by fans toward her. The league announced on Tuesday that it found no evidence to support the claims and has closed the case.
