A'ja Wilson Makes WNBA History

“I didn’t even know, as many greats as we have in this league, it’s kind of a shocker that it’s just now happening.” – Wilson

WNBA star and Las Vegas Aces center, A’ja Wilson, just hit a record that no other player has hit yet.

According to the WNBA’s official Twitter page, “A’ja Wilson made history as the only player in WNBA history to record 30+ points and 20+ rebounds in a game, leading the Las Vegas Aces past the Cincinnati Sun, 94–86!”

The athlete is on a major successful run following her A’One shoe collaboration with Nike. Hilariously, Wilson was shocked to learn she made history. “It’s huge,” Wilson told ESPN. “I didn’t even know, as many greats as we have in this league, it’s kind of a shocker that it’s just now happening. It’s a blessing. I love what I do. I love what I do. I love it so much, so anytime that I can come out and just play basketball the way that I love it, and the team, and we’re all getting involved — I’m happy with that.”

This makes Wilson the only player in the league to achieve this stat and also adds another record to her seven-season career. In 2024, she was the “first player to lead the WNBA in total points, rebounds and blocks (98) in a season,” as the organization reported.
